Self-Love
First and foremost, we must treat ourselves with kindness, love and compassion. If we are not at our optimal best, we are not able to serve as ambassadors for our cause. The more we walk, garden, bike and use our bodies as they were designed for-motion, the better we function at home, school, work and our volunteer efforts. We maintain our mobility and our flexibility, which allows us to participate in life, rather than just read about it. We also have improved mental clarity and energy, a more positive outlook and we just feel better.Living an active lifestyle also benefits the environment. Every time we choose alternative transportation, such as biking, we reduce our demand for oil and other resources. We also reduce the traffic that clogs our streets and highways and also harms wildlife. This all adds up at the end of the week to energy and resources that were conserved.
Eating a diet that supports a compassionate lifestyle means we do not harm or exploit others because of habit or enjoyment. Eating a plant-based diet that is organically grown and keeping processed foods to a minimum is the kindest choice for the earth and all her inhabitants.
